Plain language up front
Some pages on livingsys.org, shannondobbs.com, and the communications operated by Fellowship of Living Systems (FLS) contain affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, an affiliate commission is generated at no additional cost to you. You pay the same price you would have paid going directly to the vendor. The commission comes out of the vendor’s share.
We tell you this because you deserve to know when money is changing hands behind a recommendation. We only recommend things we have actually used and would happily point a friend toward without the affiliate link attached.
Who receives the commission
Affiliate commissions generated from links on this site are received by Fellowship of Living Systems, a public benefit C-corporation focused on community-led food systems, climate resilience, and coordination infrastructure for impact-focused organizations and individuals. Revenue from affiliate partnerships is reinvested into that mission.
Commissions are not paid to Shannon Dobbs personally, any FLS volunteer advocate, or any individual board member. They are received by FLS as the entity of record.
What we mean by "affiliate link"
An affiliate link is a tracked URL that identifies FLS as the referring party for a purchase. It can appear as a button, a text link, or a plain URL containing a tracking parameter (often something like ?am_id=, ?aff=, or ?ref=). Any time a link on this site carries an affiliate tracking parameter, the page containing it will disclose that fact.
Our disclosure commitment
Whenever you encounter an affiliate link on a page operated by FLS, we commit to:
- Disclosing above the fold — on the same page as the link, where you can see it before you take action.
- Making it cost-neutral — the link does not cost you more than buying directly from the vendor.
- Only recommending what we use — we don’t promote products, courses, or services we haven’t personally used or vetted.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, email address, or browsing behavior.
- We do not route you to products we have not used or do not believe in.
- We do not recommend financial products, investment vehicles, or medical products.
- We do not receive payment from vendors in exchange for reviews, ratings, or rankings.
Your rights and your choices
You are under no obligation to use any affiliate link on this site. If you prefer to purchase directly from a vendor, you are welcome to do so. Bonus materials attached to specific campaigns (like The Coordination Codex) are still available through the campaigns they belong to — we just won’t know you came through our door unless you use the tracked link.
